I have now taken part in all three seasons of BUAL and I’ve found it to be a super accepting environment, both as a general player and also as a trans person. Furthermore, it’s given me a unique opportunity to meet players from other universities with who I’ve become friends, that I would never have otherwise met.

BUAL has a special place in my heart. Becoming organically invested in the league, as well as working with some of the best up and coming production talent, has grown me as a caster. I’ve seen first-hand the community that BUAL has created away from the league – most of these people wouldn’t be friends or playing together if it wasn’t for the league. It is completely unique from the other leagues and, in my opinion, the best university league in the UK.”

I genuinely liked the tournament I felt like it is ran quite tightly and professional, allowing players of all levels to progress and learn From one another, being all players can sign up, I also really liked being able to say I won the first ever lan and I can say it with pride. It also made me respect the players more in the uni scene as they have the title of “not good players or just uni players” but there is a lot of talent in the uni scene which needs to be tapped into.

BUAL has been a brilliant proving ground for myself as a caster. The production standards are top-tier and the team are always a joy to work with. The league introduces so much more variety and competitiveness to the university circuit, and as an analyst I can say that the quality of players across the UK has improved in the year since it's inception.

BUAL was great, allowed me to meet my competitors for the past 2 years and make new friends I would never have had the opportunity to without the competition.
